About the song “A Life Without Music”:
“When I first heard about the Kids See Stars project, I wondered what I could do to help. It really didn’t take too long to figure that out--creating a song made sense. “A Life Without Music” touches on part of the problem. So many schools have had to cut music education, along with many other areas deemed “non-essential”. The song also suggests that individuals CAN make a difference.
If each one of us who cares about the youth who are the FUTURE of music can give a small amount to help, it all adds up. I also push the idea that regardless of what genre or style of music we like, we can all come together to help secure that future—one where young people have a positive and safe way to channel their time and talents. I hope that “A Life Without Music” can be of help in finding resources and raising consciousness, so that NO young person who wants to learn music will have to live a life without it.”
